Have always shied away from credit cards, favouring just a simple car loan and mortgage.
However, having just recently finished (or nearly finished) a fooking expensive house extention, i'm looking at a 0% card to pay off a rather expensive mortgage reserve account - circa £9k.

The interest is currently £50 a month, against a payment of £250. Seems like money for old rope when i could get a line of credit at 0%

Now, it appears that the only available option is a Money Transfer Card, as in a credit card that let's me dump a load of cash into this reserve account for a 3% fee. Balance transfers aren't an option, or so i'm led to believe.

I was just wondering if there's another way, or is the above the cheapest option?

Sign up to https://clubs.moneysavingexpert.com - This website has been great for sorting my finance last couple of years, free credit score & file.

Once done, hit credit card eligibility, select balance transfer cards

Website will show you all the deals available and your chances of acceptance based on your credit file

IE, It shows me "M&S Bank - 32mths 0%, 0.99% fee" and I reportedly have an 80% chance of getting this.

I've gotten a few finance products via this and its served me well.

+1 for EB using that site.

I got a Halifax CC with 36 months 0% from the eligibility checker thing. My CC will now be paid off in 2 years instead 200 ( smile ) with interest
