Best budget Espresso maker
Discussion
I'm sure this topic has been done to death, but I'm interested in buying a cheap reliable espresso machine.
I have a grinder and don't need milk frother - so I just want a standalone espresso machine, nothing fancy.
I drink Nespresso, which I class as a decent 'instant' but I want to get into proper espresso using nice light roasts from Pact or Has Bean.

Love my Aeropress

As a backup to my Bazzera Strega or I use it when on my boat. (The Aeropress that is....)

We’ve got one of these and it’s pretty good.
De'Longhi Dedica Style EC685BK Traditional Pump Espresso Machine - Black https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B06X3Z9MF3/ref=cm_sw_r...
Here’s one of the espressos I made for my flask this morning.

Another vote for Aeropress - IMHO it makes better coffee than a caffettiera, hob based italian expresso maker or the tassimo machine my parents have.https://www.aeropress.co.uk

Thanks BishBosh.
I should have stated, I have an Aeropress and Chemex. Want to get into an actual Espresso machine
Lol, in that case have a look at these guys. I get my beans from them. They are really helpful in choosing/advising even if you don’t buy from them. I should have stated, I have an Aeropress and Chemex. Want to get into an actual Espresso machine

If your anywhere near by they have several machines on display and will happily make a shot for you to try and compare.

Got to give another vote for a Gaggia here. Can't remember the model of mine, (it's small and basic as I only ever drink espresso anyway) but having had a few other cheaper ones (Kenwood, DeLonghi, and something else I can't remember), the Gaggia gives reliably perfect results day in day out. I use ground Lavazza Quality Rossa.https://www.gaggia.com/manual-machines/gran-gaggia...

The machine needs descaling every so often but that's the hard water round my way.
We have a DeLonghi bean to cup at work (and I've also used one elsewhere) - it's better than instant but it's somehow just not a patch on the Gaggia still.
ETA - many offers on at gaggiadirect.com currently. Something similar to mine is £149 with the discount - absolute bargain!
