Micro blistering ‘13 plat SLK

Hi folks,

Bit of advice please, my step dad bought a 2013 red Mercedes slk second hand from a Mazda main dealer a few months ago.

Nothing was disclosed at the time and although we inspected the car to be honest we didn’t notice. Under the sun and closer inspection we noticed the entire car is covered in micro blisters, we took it to a local paint specialist I’ve used who told us that the whole car has likely been restrayed badly.....very badly...

My question is what would you do, do we have any recourse with the Mazda dealer? Any advice welcome

Let me guess, Fire opal red?

Just google it and youll see it was a massive problem on all Mercs of that age.

Trip to Merc to see if you can them to repaint it under warranty.

Mercedes have had a lot of issues with paint and rust in recent years.....they blamed inferior steel they were using.
Some years ago I had a coupe in that was on original paint but had small rust spiders under the paint over the entire car.
And don't get me started on Mercs and rusty wheel arches.

I am on a few painter FB groups,

Lots of guys doing full repaints on these under warranty.
