I've handed my notice in for pastures new and have given as much notice as possible.

Had a start date at new place for 14th Jan. Had a call last night that this could now be pushed back to beginning of Feb due to new offices being not ready.

I don't wan't to take time off unpaid (mortgage, two young children) nor do I wan't to kick up a fuss with new employer.

I haven't put anything on paper to current employer yet but could they ask me to leave as stated anyway?

I haven't mentioned anything yet as I feel like I will be going back to current MD with tail between my legs.

Cheers!

Ti would depend on your current employer though and especially your relationship with them

many place would be happy for you to stay till end of Jan to squeeze every bit of life out of you and for KT sessions but some can be adamant and say you got to early as planned

I would suggest that you dont tell them about your new employers office move, just say that due to some plans that you have,it will be Feb when you ideally want to start in the new place!

Have you got any holiday pay or other additional money that will form part of of your final pay-packet?

Might make up the difference if so.

You've given notice to your current employer so it's 'official' regardless of written confirmation so just comes down to a friendly chat.
