Best place to buy a diesel hack for cheap interim stop gaps?

New contract is a 100 mile daily round trip. Although I am not precious about my E82 Coupe I don't really want to add any more miles to it.

I was thinking along the lines of a Volvo S40/S60

Is Gum tree still the go to place? Or is Facebook just as good?

Facebook marketplace is ok, I don't think its any better or worse than any other classifieds section, ultimately you buy on condition not the media used to sell it.
Pistonheads classifieds is good but maybe not so much for a fairly run of the mill cheap diesel.

Edit to add- Always good old eBay to look at, put your requirements in with a 3o mile radius and see what comes up
