Risk Management Training - IRM?

Hi all,
After asking for some study support for work, I've been asked to pull together a proposal. The field of study would be risk management. I currently work for a consumer credit firm.
Does anyone have any recommendations for training courses?
Has anyone completed any Institute of Risk Management courses? How did you find the?
After a phonecall to the IRM, I now understand that their courses are not regulated, therefore it appears to be a private business knocking together courses and selling them. There is no evidence that they are actually internationally recognized (as they are marketed) as no roles actually request/require the IRMCert qualification.
Any experience?
