2007 BMW Z4M Roadster

Hi everyone, I am new to these forums and as I just recently got my car, I thought to sign up to the forums and introduce myself.
I have just acquired a BMW Z4M Roadster in Carbon Black (which has a really nice blue hue to it up close).
I decided to go for the Z4M as until recently my old man had an E46 M3 Convertible and I just love the S54 engine they share. I've been surprised just how good the car feels to drive about in. I've not owned a car for a few years, but I use to own an Impreza P1 which I had a lot of work done to. To me my Impreza was such a great car to own and thought I would be hard pushed to find anything that could match it for fun factor when hooning, yet be really calm driving about in town and traffic.
Due to the weather being pretty bad, I've only go one of the dealers photo's for the time being

I've been posting on there a wee bit. When I said I wanted to put the classic style Alpina wheels on it, they thought is was really wrong to put them on an M car 
My old man's M3 had the CSL wheels on, which while a very lovely style of wheel, seems to be done on almost every Z4 I've seen pics of.
I'm based in Headington, which part of Oxford are you located? Do you or did you ever go to any of the local car meets in Oxford? I've not been active on the car scene here since I had to sell my Impreza P1 a few years ago.

I got my Z4MR from a small dealership near Woodstock! I was surprised to find a Z4M so close to me in Headington. My mum used her 2010 factory JCW Mini in chilli red as P/X for my Zed.Although you can't argue with CSL's....

I am not a fan of the 5 spoke wheels they used with the E85/86's. I did think about getting the Alpina Roadster , but I really don't like the style of Alpina wheel they came with and they were missing a few features that the M had.
I've been trying to find some pics of a M with the Alpina Classic wheels, but even google images came up with nothing!
I use to own an E30 Alpina C2 2.5, but I was starting to get really sick of a few toxic people that I clashed with on the E30 forum. It feels really scary having a RWD car again after 7 years. I'm really wanting to get back into going to car meets and shows, after my health (nerve damage in my spine) stopped me from being able to go out and enjoy myself. My P1 was rotting on my driveway as we only had a double garage and my folks kept their cars in each side. Now we've only got 2 cars in the household, so I am able to at least able to protect my car much better than before.

I toyed with the idea of the Roadster S, but settled on an M too. Just felt more special. Although I think performance wise, there isn't much in it.
I've also had a few E30's, love them but I always had cheap and the prices have just escalated out of my budget for a spare weekend car!

Fellow BMW driving Oxonian here based in Headington too. I saw your car today whilst on my regular dog walking route, it looked great!Funnily enough I always used to admire that chilli red JCW Mini. I wondered why I hadn't seen it recently & now I know!
I was able to get some pics taken last week, where it was dry, the car was clean and there was good light! I've now had the car for a month and between my old man and me (mostly me), we've done 750+ miles. Usually I am lucky to manage 3500 miles in a year, so I am well on track to doing double that over the remaining 11 months!
I've managed to get some replacement clips for the doorsill guard, but can't work out the best way of getting the old clips out of their holes, without damaging the paint or bodywork around them. Also managed to get a replacement M badge to replace the one missing on the drivers side front wing from BMW. The most amazing part, is the fact it was cheaper to get it from BMW, than getting one off eBay!
As I mentioned above, I would rarely do over 3500 miles a year and this is the first time I've had my own car in about 3 years, as I only started driving again during the summer earlier this year. So impressed with how put together the car feels and it's reassuring that the 3 previous owners to me, have all cherished this car. Now I am getting use to the car, I've been able to really enjoy the whole experience of driving the car. I am just addicted to the cars Jekyll and Hyde nature, which I've personally never had with any of my previous cars over the years!
