Hello everybody,

Soo I've been driving a 2009 auris which was fine but I'm searching for something more comfortable or exciting. (Yes i know that sounds stupid). I'm not a huge fan of reckless driving - fast speed lane changes in urban areas and etc. I've never done such things as drifting which i dont see a very big deal of as you can do it with 4WD or RWD. I've been thinking about different cars and compiled a list.

Bmw e92 330d - the 3.0l because a lot of the 2.0 suffer chain problems.
Bmw e91 (wagon) 330d - if no coupe then second choice.
Audi a6 / a4 wagon_avant - would go for quattro and i know the aluminum rear axle? bridge can have issues.
Vw Touareg - probably would need to save up but would get the second generation. High view over traffic.
Lexus IS

The production year would be at about 2009 or upper.
Their are a few questions which I have and I think would lead into a interesting discussion due to a strange list. (We do taxes and insurance different soo no need for that info. Also would be great if the measuring system would be kw and L/100km

I'm a 20 year old. Have a gf no dog or cat ??. Usually go to work with a bike in the summer. I'm in the Baltic States for geographical reference.

1. The best engine for diesel e91-92 3.0 and a 2.0l? (I've heared that the 135kw 2.0l in the facelifted bmw have had the problem solved with the chain but might be wrong)
2. Fuel consumption on every vehicle? (Sounds stupid but by my research they all usually consume 10l. So why a audi if the same fuel consumption as a Touareg)
3. How much more expensive is Touareg to maintain then the other cars?
4. Any major problems on other cars?

Welcome. Out of your list, I see no point in buying anything other than a 3 series saloon based upon your circumstances. At the age of 20 I presume a 6 cylinder might be prohibitive insurance wise. A 320d is a great drive anyway.

The ownership and insurance would be upon my mothers name with an exception of family member driving. That would reduce the insurance be a huge amount (reduction of 300-500eu). That's why the insurance isn't the main priority. I would be fine with a 2.0l but as I mentioned they all have problems with the chain.
