Ebay not processing payment, but PayPal working elsewhere.

I have bought 100s of items on EBay and never had a problem paying.

Yesterday my payment failed with PayPal, credit and debit cards. It is still not working today.

I have since paid another website with PayPal.

Has something changed with EBay?

The online eBay help chat was next to useless.

Check which email you’ve got linked to your account. I got hacked a while back and didn’t know until I sold something and the money didn’t turn up, despite being shown the receipt for payment! Could be similar maybe?

The only time I've had an issue like that was when I'd put a couple of things in the basket and tried to pay.
It turned out that the seller had them listed as instant payment needed and although I could put them in the basket the payment always failed.

I've now managed to buy something else on Ebay with Paypal, so I'm not sure what's going on with the original item which will still not work. I've messaged the seller.

I have changed my passwords too.

Could it have been a problem with the sellers PayPal rather than on your side?
