Evening,

Just a quick question before I push the 'Pay Now' button. I'm ditching the 20" RF Dunlops on my newly acquired 640d GC. Side wall stiffness is 95Y on the fronts, and 97Y on the rears, I presume that doesn't change if you are going away from the RF set up?

I'm in the car trade, but deal in classics, TVR/Lotus etc...so I'm not an expert when it comes to moderns anymore.

Looking at Bridgestone Potenza S001, seem very good value, and good reports from what I've read on a few other threads.

Thanks,

Ed

I don't think load ratings change, I went for Michelin super sports, you'll see a huge improvement in ride quality and handling.

I have the same car albeit a coupe , my original fitment Dunlops are up for replacement and if you want to or need to keep run flats it looks like you only have the option of more dunlops or Bridgestone . I would not dream of going to non run flat as I use the car for long distance touring . I used to have a X3 and I ditched the run flats and because of the now soft sidewall it made it very twitchy on the entrance to corners and the ride was no better LOL it could hardly have been worse !

I fitted non RfT to my Gran Coupe and it improved the ride a lot. Slight softening of response but not noticable over time and it’s a GT car not a hot hatch anyway.

Drove it to Italy and back in the summer. Yes it has no spare but just have to accept that a big puncture will require towing and I have BMW Assist for that. I do 20k+ miles per annum.
