Adverts that make you NOT want to buy the product

Sometimes I see an advert that has the exact opposite effect to to that which it is intended. I elect to avoid the product because the advertising annoys me.

For example, the latest KFC advert with a bunch of call centre girls singing with their mouths full I find pretty irritating. As such, my family won't be frequenting any KFC outlets in the near future.

Maybe I'm just a miserable old fart, and perhaps such adverts persuade thousands of chavs to part with their hard earned dole money. Beats me.

Probably all of them to be honest.

There are a couple that I find funny but even those don't make me reach for my wallet.

I have a healthy distaste for everything adverting/marketing so I'm probably not the best person to ask.

Another one that annoys me is the Esure adverts. The one with Micael Winner saying "calm down". When I need to renew my insurance I have made a mental note NOT to contact this company, because their adverts annoy me itensely.

And another one that troubles me is Domestos, "which kills 99% of Germs". Germs reproduce at an astounding rate - they double in number every few seconds. If you've only killed 99% that's not much use really - you want a much higher figure tha that!

Not just someone off an advert - a idiot who starred in an incredibly irritating ad campaign. A mate of mine met him and said he had quite an ego. Though unfortunately when he showed up at her office she had no idea who he was and he was quite upset

Any advert where men are patronised and stereotyped as being thick by the "clever woman" in the advert.

One that springs to mind is where some chap is looking for something to clean the bog. Cue condescending woman figure with a line such as "there, there stupid bloke. Here's what your looking for - right in front of your eyes".

Sorry to get off topic - I'm all for equal rights and all that, but I'm getting sick of blokes being made out to be proper tws in adverts.

Its either a woman making a man look silly or a person of colour doing it to a white person.
