I have 2 motorcycles that I only use from time to time and I'm buying batteries more than I should be. Instead of buying 2 10W solar chargers/optimizers, can I buy 1 20W+ and wire it to both batteries (in parallel obviously). I'm looking to get the 80W version as I could potentially use it when I'm out camping etc

Thanks

Unless it's specifically designed for that I'd be wary of doing it - equalising two batteries against each other could get messy.

I emailed ctek to ask about having 2 bikes on one trickle charger in 2016.

Hi

If the batteries are used together or after they are fully charged one by one, you can connect them in parallel and charge them together.

Please note that the batteries should not be bigger than 100Ah when connected together – if so – please use a bigger charger, for example the MXS 5,0.

Thanks for that! I'll have a look at the ah of the two batteries!

I was asking about using 0.8 amp charger for this so that's why I think mentioned it. In the end I brought one battery inside instead but thought it was a useful answer.
