Griff 2 ?

So, what are the chances? Is this something that might ever see the light of day?

There are some fantastic sports cars around today and TVR are undoubtedly producing some of the best. Having said that there just doesn't appear to be anything in production (for reasonable money) that fills the void that the Griff left after its 10 year run. Sure, I'm aware that demand was dropping off, the reasons for that and that TVR needed to 'move on', but today, there aint nuffin that 'lights so many fires' in the way that the Griff does. Is it in the 'muscle car' image and rumbly old V8 that is shared with the iconic Cobra that the appeal lies? So many people I know have moved on to other cars, even within the marque, only to come back.

There are numerous wonderful style queues that could be drawn from the original and keyed into a next generation: look at the new incarnation of Cobra that Ford are planning to sell: Fabulous!

I can see it all in my 'minds eye' and if I didn't suffer from such a chronic motor neuron disfunction, I'd have my crayons out and my doodlings on their way to Mr Smolenski with a demand that he build me one.
As for the V8: AJP resurection, Jag' Supercharger? Dunno!

It's the only motor I'd suffer another divorce and remortgage for!

Looks like TVR have been beaten to it (apart from the dodgy green colour)this is the sort car that Chimaera and Griff owner wish TVR would build I recon.

Exactly what I was going to say.
I had a good tour of this car and I strongly recommend you have a look before casting opinions.

It grabbed my attention as a perfected Griff with even more grunt, handling and grunt. (and a bit more grunt!)
Great build quality and attention to detail too. Not forgetting the Prodrive chassis.

Would love to gte a drive in one. I think this is the only car that could replace the Griff for the same attributes.

The TS500 bloody good too. Did you know it has the same engine as the Griff but with all the extra nice bits on it? Good price for what it is.

Yup! seen 'em both and 100% with you on this one Dusty. It's one reason you'll not hear my slating other badges, or those that choose to buy their products. The makers of the machinary you choose to mention are passionate; it aint just a bread winning thing, I know that.

There's no doubting that there's better stuff around than that which gives me a buzz each weekend. My thoughts were simply that the Griff, as we know it, would make for a fantastic second generation; there are few cars held in such high regard by so many. I just reckon it'd make for a fabulous evolution building upon those aesthetics which culminated in something unique. In fact, it's just beggin' for it.....No?

Agree with you there. Infact Im currently getting more fun out of something a tenth of the cost of the Griff!

Not to say that TVR aren't good but it seems that TVR owners have a massive amount of badge snobbery. They really need to take the blinkers off and see what else is out there.

I also really like the TSO...I just wish the instruments were in the right place....

You can have the instruments in a different arrangement but they are still in the centre.

I asked for the speedo and tacho to be swapped around so the tacho was nearest.

That centre dashboard is great material though, like a piano finish with a slight marble effect.

Personally I would go for the Mantis. I love it!! But I do reckon the Marcoss's are brilliant cars. Would I trade my Griff for one? I'd have to drive and see.

If our Russian friend is going to limit new model runs as tightly as he says then Griff 2 should come round pretty quick. Shortly followed by "Return of the Griff" and various others in a new six part trilogy (sic).
