Dark evenings and shot weather need to be avoided, so whats hot in the PC shooter world ?

Dont have anything hot GFX card wise just want something playable and absorbing.

Wolfenstein series is brilliant for just shooting through levels.

Try this. It's a hover tank shooter incorporating first person perspective real time strategy elements. Probably my favourite game of all time.

Just cause 3?

I have never played any of the just cause games up until now and it really does have its moments and lots of fun things to do.

Circling militarised oil platforms in an attack helicopter while blowing the hell out of it is one of my favourite things. (turn the volume up)

It also helps that when you get killed you don't generally have to replay the last twenty minutes to get back to where you were.

I'm currently working my way through Black Mesa, the modernised version of Half Life. Given the refresh I've barely noticed I'm playing a game that's effectively from 1998. Having great fun as I'd forgotten most of it and also how unforgiving it is on the higher difficulty levels.

Whether you've played the original or not, it's worth a look and also with checking on Is There Any Deal? to see if you can find it or others at a discount.

Titanfall 2 is about as close to a sequel to Half Life as you're ever going to get. I play through it every Christmas.

Metro 2033 & Metro Last light.

Should be able to pick these up cheap, especially with the 3rd one due out soon.

Vote for SW + SW2 (the reboots) - played the whole lot almost entirely with the swords, superb fun smile

Bulletstorm is an oldie but a goodie. Remastered version came out last year, well worth a look.

Would also recommend the Borderlands series - old but still good for a laugh. Think Borderlands 2 is the pick of the bunch, not taxing on a modern PC and also regularly on sale on Steam for pretty cheap.

I absolutely loved these, got them both cheap on xbox years ago, still think they are some of the most absorbing games I have ever played. I just hope the new one isn't too ambitious or loses the magic of these games.
