R8 and battery trickle chargers

Anyone know if the R8 V10 + 12V socket (either in the car or luggage compartment) is live when the ignition is off?

I have a CTEK MXS 5.0 charger that I used in a Cayman GT4 which doesn't appear to be doing anything in the Audi (the battery condition lights don't turn on).

I didn't test mine but a few posts on R8talk saying it isn't, so I just fitted a new socket into the battery access panel in the frunk, it's a five minute job.

Just found in the user manual that the socket isn't live when ignition is off and they don't recommend charging through it anyway.
