2018 Abarth 595 Competizione
Discussion
Don't post a huge amount on PH but I log on every few days to catch up on my usual sections, so figured I'd stick a post up about the new toy I collected yesterday.
It's a 2018 (although possibly MY19) Abarth 595 Competizione. As it's not going to be a daily driver I didn't go wild with options - Campovolo Grey paint, supersport alloys, 7" touchscreen and Apple Carplay were the only ones selected.
It's an absolute riot to drive, and logically there are far better cars at this price point (and even in the same category) but nothing I drove made me laugh like this!
Gave it a wash and some winter protection yesterday with less than 100 miles on the clock.
If you've gotten this far, you're rewarded with a few crappy phone pics below.
Comments, criticism and questions are welcome.

Looks absolutely stunning, love the Monza exhaust on those. Nice to see they are shipping them with Michelin tyres too now, as I didn't rate the P-Zero's they used to come with that highly.
I have an Abarth Grande Punto and the wife has a regular Abarth 595, and you are right...there are much better cars in the sector but for sheer giggles the Abarths are way ahead
Enjoy yours!

Welcome to the club, you are in good company here with the 595, there are number of us who one around. I have the same as you only in Red with the Performance Pack on top.
Some good owner info here: https://www.pistonheads.com/gassing/topic.asp?h=0&... and here: https://www.pistonheads.com/gassing/topic.asp?h=0&...
You need a PH smiley

Appreciate the kind words so far - this seems to get the nod of approval from a pretty wide audience which still surprises me.
I actually really like the look of the exhaust, almost like little pea-shooters poking out. The noise is just silly, a 1.4 city car has no right to sound this good. And it makes you work for pops and bangs, there's nothing false about them.
PH smiley was ordered last week, just awaiting it's arrival!

Nice car, I like the idea of them.
However me neighbour has one and wakes me up most mornings with the extremely loud exhaust!
Yeah I could well believe that. The newer models have a variable exhaust, the valves open when sport mode is engaged. The older ones would open when you exceeded (I believe) 3,500 rpm. Although it's still pretty loud with the valves closed, it's noticeably louder and deeper with them open. However me neighbour has one and wakes me up most mornings with the extremely loud exhaust!
Congrats! It looks ace.
Lots of love on here for the Abarths.
You're in my neck of the woods. We got my wife a Trofeo last year, also from the Silverlink.

Like you say, great fun. It's hard to explain to people who haven't owned or driven one, that there's just something about them that screams fun.
I can cover ground almost as quick as in my 911 around the country lanes where I live. Mind you the Abarth is a twitchy little bugger over bumps and things.
It wags it's tail a bit when hard braking over bumps, with the obligatory hazard lights flashing away.
I've been trying to get a Rivale sorted as a Xmas surprise for my wife but it's a bit too soon to get out of ours. Maybe next year.
The Monza exhaust sounds great. Ours has the older slash cut tips which I prefer but as long as yours sounds as good there's no difference.
The Abarths have no right to sound as good as they do.
Enjoy the car.
