Damaged alloys after new tyres advice
Discussion
I’ve up loaded 3 pics it not done much justice it’s above the “B” on the bmw badge all paint come away and there is 2 other pics uploaded as well
Like said I’m
Not sure if it worth going back to complain or leave it as it’s been a few days now and obviously I’ve only just noticed usually they are pretty good and I have never had a problem
Up until now so didn’t think of checking
At the time
Got the tyres fitted
Na they haven’t been touched up before the car is only 3 years old but yeah few people now said just go down see what can be suggested . I was just worried I might of not had a leg to stand on going back down to county tyres to complain as it’s been a few days and they could turn round and say well where’s the proof or say it was already there when I know it wasn’t I know 100% the wheels wasn’t marked before going in it maybe. Only cosmetic and it’s something that can be repaired but just annoying as you try best to look after something and some people don’t give a sh**t about what you own or take pride in

Age doesn't mean anything - the ones on my 340i needed refurbishment after 18 months.Edited by ki3ran on Tuesday 11th December 13:12

People would be amazed/shocked at how many brand new, unregistered cars (of all makes), require repair work before they even see a dealership's showroom/forecourt, let alone in the first three years of ownership.
A couple of weeks ago I followed a brand new, unregistered VW Polo (complete with trade plates happily bouncing off the tailgate because they weren't strapped down properly!), that was being driven like it was stolen and being chased by the Police.
There was a long section of roadworks on our route, complete with tarmac "ramps" either end where the old tarmac had been cut away, and raised ironworks in the road, which I had to slow down for - Not the Polo though, the driver just went through at speed, bouncing off everything, like Sebastian Loeb on a rally stage.
I caught him up in traffic, and every time he came to a halt, he absolutely floored it away, and was then slamming on the brakes at the last second when he caught up with cars ahead.
This carried on until we were @ a mile from the dealership, when suddenly, his driving changed completely, and he started driving like a saint - Pulling away gently, leaving a big gap to cars ahead, braking early and gently, and obeying all the speed limits ("Worried about being spotted driving like a tw
t in someone else's new car by someone from the dealership" I though to myself). He pulled into the dealership nice and slowly, and I suddenly found myself feeling very sorry for whoever ends up with that car, and has to battle the dealership over unusual tyre wear, strange suspension damage, cracks appearing in their alloy wheels, all manner of parts coming loose, numerous rattles and squeaks suddenly occurring inside their brand new car, despite them only ever driving the car carefully.

Partly why i think "buy on condition" used, with 80k on the clock can be more fruitful than buying uber low miles or new and expecting it to be faultless. At least the used car actually got to 80k.
