I'm putting together a little "fun" article on products that aren't quite what the manufacturers claim or what people perceive. Those I've come up with so far are:

Dyson. Never looses suction. - so long as you disassemble it, clean it out and replace the filters after every use.

Dulux Once. I believe the word you are looking for is "Twice".

Flash Car Wash - No need to leather off - except for owners of dark coloured cars who may need to.

BA - The world's favourite airline. London to Dublin. BA; £90. Ryanair: £15!

Any others?

I'm thinking Vixpy, although I have no desire to be proved wrong.

How about the Lynx effect - meant to make you irresistable to women; actually makes you smell like Ben Sherman's jockstrap. Disgusting stuff.

Strong/extreme hold hair gel, the stuff that can't even handle a small breeze before your hair goes fuzzy again..... Lynx comes to mind.

Really? I was convinced that that would be quite cool.

See, the point I made earlier, word of mouth has outed a crap product.

Vicks Synex nasal spray, supposed to let you breath for hours after using it if you have a cold. I've tried it, never works.

True - when I've been so bunged up I've resorted to using it, I haven't been able to sniff it
