Never thought I would get excited about EV , but suddenly I have ! Having gone from having no interest in EV suddenly it seems to make a lot of sense .
Is it just me ? Or has this happened to anyone else ?

PS The GT3 won't be going !

I "expressed an interest" a few months ago...is Tesla can sell as many cars as they do with their build quality and prices I think Porsche are on to a winner.

I find the car quite interesting, esp if the design is anywhere close to the concept car. Having said that, I unlikely to buy one until I am no longer allowed to drive my V12 in the city.

Also, I am still curious what the real world range of these [types of cars] is on the Autobahn / if the Taycan will be able to do a few hundred kms with lots of full throttle, then it will be really interesting - esp once there is more/faster charging infrastructure

I submitted an LOI for a Taycan over two years ago..With the increasingly heavy post GPF ICE Porsches its the Taycan which appeals to me most in both a heart and head sense..Sad but true.!

I think the quoted range is 300km...so probably closer to 200km if sir is driving enthusiastically. So say a 150 mile range....that would work for me as a daily. Most I ever do is around 100 miles. No good for long journeys clearly.

That’s the thing - if it is say 200km if you constantly accelerate hard regardless of ambient temps etc, then that is ok - i need to go 150km door to door, but any lower and it becomes uncomfortable

The FF barely makes it there and back - so c 300km on one tank, which is already a little tedious

Is it really the case that the Taycan will be around £75k (base price) and still have 600bhp?

Presumably it will need £25k of options to bring it up to a decent spec?
That is the rumoured price. Don’t see why you’d buy a Panamera Hybrid

aren't there supposed to be different power levels - ala Panamera - so 75k might be the "base model" and the 600 hp model could be a lot more expensive
just guessing

i found this while having a boxing day stroll thru old forum posts. Interesting predictions on price and cost. Did the people who put in a letter of intent progress with it?

Well the £75k base price is probably right as there is a still to be launched 2S (RWD only)....Cmoose’s 500km range is looking a bit optimistic though.

My LOI has became a deposit and a build slot but not sure if I will do it or not. Not an early car....want to drive one first....and because I am not 25 any more I don’t do the early adopter thing very well!

I’ve put a deposit down. I was thinking about taking it as a business lease though rather than a personal purchase. Then I won’t need to worry about flogging an ‘out of date EV’ that no one wants anymore in a few years.

Its the only way to do it IMO..Its either a Business lease or PCP and hand the car back at the end of the term pocketing the tax savings in the meantime.
