Bespoke Wheels?

Has anyone looked into the possibility of getting wheels made in the same style as the Griff 500?

Getting hold of Z rated 15" tyres is getting more and more difficult and makes me wonder whether they will even be available in a few years' time. I've looked at aftermarket wheels but can't help feel none of them look as good as the originals. I like the smaller front wheel too.

How about getting some 17" wheels made and putting the 16" ones on the front?

I can imagine it would be expensive but there may be quite a few people who would want them?

Think you will find the offset for the front and rear is different.

I did know about the different offsets but as the factory used 16" wheels on the last Griff's I guess it's easy to work around.

If it's £k's per wheel tho' I think I'll grow to like the after market wheels available.

Interesting point that, what about it you LE owners, are the front and back wheels the same offset ? No need to measure, it is stamped on the wheel centre, 7.5J 23 or the like. Perhaps they fitted a spacer but would think the standard studs would then be too short.

I thought 16's fitted on the front okay, just need spaces on the steering rack to srop the wheels fouling the wheel archs on hard lock

I visited the web site advertised here and they offer a custom service. Called them and they said the price for 2 wheels would be almost as much as for 4. Also, they can't copy the wheel exactly but may be 95%. The web site says c. £1200 for 4 wheels. (Their advice was to buy aftermarket wheels)

sorry, bit late on this one!

TVRparts.com have several variants to fit TVR hubs of all types. some quite/very rare.have a word with Neil.

also, we have an after market wheel manufacturer coming to the "Monster" who will be bringing some new designs.

details should be out this weekend...
