TRANS MOUNT

I need to develop a new trans mount to facilitate my GT2 transaxel. Has anyone considered a solid mount? Thoughts? Lee

Not ideal I would guess. If you solid mount the tranny you will have to solid mount the engine as well.

Not forgetting the extra noise and vibrations through the chassis you will have to live with

Well, a bit of effort but this is the new mount for my 996 gt2 transaxle. As you can see this mount leaves a lot of room behind the mount for the body work. Also we generated a ear on top of the mount for a muffler mount. the support rods are bolted into bushings that go through the frame and are welded on either side of the frame, strength should not be an issue.
