Just spent an enjoyable 20 minutes trying to clean dog shit off Mrs.NCoT's trainers thanks to some pikey dog-on-string arsehole at a car show on Sunday.

Now I have done this sort of thing many times before and my usual method of choice is to wait until dried, get most off with screwdriver, and attack with an old toothbrush and lashings of dettol.

I have just done that, and I can still smell the dog shit through the dettol.

So, a 2 pronged post :

1. How the hell do I get rid of the smell? Presumably the damn thing is still unhygenic...

2. Anybody with a dog who lets it shit anywhere (especially on a school playing field at a car show FFS), you are a of the highest order

I have had this unfortunate incident, and nothing took care of the smell until I put them in the washing machine. You may feel better if you put them in there by themselves, and not with any other clothes. Wash on hot with detergent, then put them in the dryer with a fabric softener sheet. Initially, I had cleaned them off with high pressure water from the hose.

I do not understand these people. I have a dog and a pack of 'nappy sacks' nicely perfumed. Cost = 97p for 300.

Not exactly break the bank costs.

It's another little example of this country's general condition...

What you really should have done was follow the pikey home, break into his bathroom and clean the trainers with his toothbrush, before removing any lasting residues with his pillow.

As somebody with a couple of dogs of my own, I hate people who don't clear up behind theirs. If I can walk around with a couple of plastic bags, so can they.

This thread has really struck a cord with me...

Fcukin dog owners let their wittle pooches crap all over the place where I live (Wimbledon), including parks where kids play etc etc

I have confronted them about it in the past and all you get is verbal abuse.

At times like those, I feel firing squads are a good idea (for the owners, not the mutts)

I hate people who will let the dog off the leash and let it go potty in your front yard. How about if I drove up to their house and took a dump in their front yard? It's so rude. Some woman was walking her dog in front of my parents house, and I chased her dog out of the yard. She got mad at me, and I told her that there is a leash law in this state (which there is) and it's illegal for her to let the dog off the leash, plus she was tresspassing. I haven't seen her since. I can't believe people sometimes.

No it's not. Why are so many posts on here littered with comments like this? If it's that bad, move and leave us to it - at least the general 'feel good' factor would improve.

According to the likes of you 'the country' was a much nicer place 20 years ago. No it wasn't - I was still treading in dog shit then as well, on the pavements and in fields.

We have a dog and clean up after it, but we live next to a lake and see people walking round it who let their dog crap and just walk away time after time even if you challenge them it makes no differance, and just because you used to tread in it as a kid doesn't make it right then or now. My answer would be to watch people letting their dogs crap and then walk up to them and shoot the dog, it would only need to be done a few times and every dog owner would clean up after them. And if they were still unhappy shoot the owner

This happened to me a while ago. A woman living in our village let her dog into my front garden to do it's business. I saw what she was up to and quick as shot I opened the window and asked her to get the dog out of my garden making sure she picked up it's faeces unless she wanted me to toe punt it over the the cottage opposite.

Some people!!!

to all the dog lovers out there no dogs were hurt in the posting of this message
