Hot Power Steering Pump

I've just been tinkering with the Chim and noticed that the power steering pump is getting very hot, to the point where you can't keep your hand on it for more than a couple of seconds.

The car had been ticking over for about 10 minutes with the bonnet up, so under bonnet temperature would not be a factor.

Is this normal or does it indicate there is a problem?
