ICE, Satnav, Origin b2 - fitting
Discussion
Hi All,
So I've finally got my Tuscan S back after many months of waiting (engine rebuild) and want to fit a new stereo with satnav and wire in a cradle for my origin b2. I want it to look good so that rules out doing it myself - can anyone recommend a good ICE company with (known) experience of TVRs, preferably Tuscans? In the Northwest would be best but around London would be doable as well.
TIA
Alex.

I think Big Al has just had sat nav fitted. Might be worth having a word with him.
Somebody Call?
Missing you Di!
you get the mail from ncs? OK Sat Nav.
I have just spoken (again) to the most contentious TVR Hi Fi, Audio, Sat Nav etc, etc fitter I've ever met. The man is a WIZARD!
Mentioned your plight and your location and he say's he'll travel far and wide to accommodate!
The Wizard in question is Carl Baker (AKA the Meta man)
Give him a bell on 0772 072 3407 I'm sure you won't be disappointed!

What where the signs of your 2002 Tuscan needing a rebuild? did it just pack up?
I have a 2002 Tuscan nothing wrong with it so far but dreading the thought and also thought 2002's + where ok?
Hi CH. Well the engine sounded slightly rough to me, but not particularly bad. I'd previously taken the car in having heard the noise when one of the shims had gone soft and this sounded pretty similar, but much less severe.
This time I took it in to the factory because the drivers window was going crazy and the door was opening itself on the motorway all the time, and got a surprise call saying "sorry, the engine's dead".
BTW, the engine was brand new (Nov 2004) and had done just 2000 miles (run in perfectly and serviced on schedule etc).
My advice would be to keep 10k in the bank at all times and just enjoy the car while it works.

Hi Al
Just gave Carl a call - he sounds like just the man for the job! Thanks a lot for the tip. I travel to London a lot so next time I'm down there I'll pop over to work it all out and I'll let you guys know how it goes.
Bit of a necropost, but what the hell.
For anyone interested, I finally got the satnav / stereo / b2 etc fitted by Carl, as recommended by others on here. Well, thanks for the tips guys, as he's done an excellent job - the car sounds a million times better than with the standard setup, the b2 is cleanly mounted in good view and everything works perfectly. To top it all he was very flexible and helpful and managed to get everything done at the last minute as per my demands.
The satnav (x1r) is good too btw, but the pioneer ipod interface is utterly, utterly crap. There are no menus to scroll through the music and only 8 characters of text are displayed (even though the headunit is capable for showing a full listing). Pioneer's customer service kept me waiting for 30 minutes then said "well it's our first try, not our fault, we'll do a better job next year". No more pioneer kit for me.
