Had my 997 turbo on a trickle charger all winter as battery would run down quite quickly

However OPC has told me not to bother on the 991 as it will shut down unnecessary electrics itself to preserve the battery.

Do you trickle yours or leave it? Mine is garaged over the winter for max 3 months between usage

Cheers

Trickle (ctek) for me. They do use battery power when sitting there and modern cars are very sensitive to voltage drops so I’d use a charger. For me it’s a low cost no brainer

As above, I have a CTEK XMS 5.0 which I leave my 981 GTS on most of the time over the winter months.

I don’t have power in my garage, which is away from the house in a compound, so a trickle charger isn’t an option. How long could I safely leave my 991.2 GTS for without risking a flat battery?

Google solar charger 12v, you can get a 4.5 watt one for under £20. Hang it outside with wire through window or doorway.

Its not just about risking a flat battery, as disuse causes damage to the batteries life, even after 2-3 weeks.
