Focus ST - Evo X

Hello all, I’m currently driving a focus st mk2 and have loved it for years but now want to upgrade, I’ve always wanted to own an evo x, I know 99% of people will say the older evos are better but that’s not my question, my question is will I honestly see much of an upgrade from the st to the evo? I’m hoping to get a fq-360 mainly for it being manual so I should hopefully see good improvements but if I have to go for the fq-300 or fq-330 will they still feel better? Obviously a test drive will help me decide this but has anyone made a similar change and has any experience in this to give an idea what to expect? Thanks.

The performance of the Evo is leaps and bounds ahead of the ST and you will definitely notice a difference. Go drive one

Performance wise the Evo will be miles ahead of the Focus.

The interior is probably comparable

The running costs on the Evo will be significantly higher both on fuel and maintenance

Still go for the Evo though if you can live with the running costs increase

The fq360 is a very fast car but focus STs with mods can be pushing similar power and can be very very quick too. The handling as standard on the evo is something else and the build quality is much lighter/tinnier than the chunky feeling focus.

The evo is a lot cooler than a focus, so it would be an upgrade for that alone.
