Mondeo ST200

I'm making this thread as a little diary of bringing my newly acquired ST200 back to life. As far as I'm aware it's been sat unloved for the last 4 years, luckily it's been inside and hasn't totally dissolved like most of them have.

It's reasonably tidy considering, the rear arches need attention but having owned a Puma that's nothing new to me. The leather Recaro interior is like new with no signs of wear or rattles. The 2.5 V6 makes a wonderful noise and pulls very well indeed. It's sporting Spax springs and shocks and handles surprisingly well too.






Judging by the paintwork it's been washed with a brick, it's covered in massive swirls. I cracked the DA out and done a few passes over a rear door to see if they would improve and they did massively, now I have to do the rest. I used a DAS6 V2 and Scholl S20 black on a blue Scholl pad for those who are interested.

Things left to do:
Finish polishing.
Change the horrible EBC yellowstuff pads (may go down the MK3 Mondeo brake route)
Undersealing.
New rear arches and paint.
Maybe a driver's side sill, depends how grotty it is when I take the skirt off.
Wheel refurb.

Nice project. I've always had a soft spot for these. Hope it's not too crusty under the sill covers!

Nice car. Imperial Blue looks great on any fast Ford.

Always preferred the slightly more compact look of the Mk1 and Mk2 Mondeos compared to the later models. Interested to see how you get on with it!

There was a thread on here of one which looked lovely until you looked at its sills and it was done for.
