2017 BMW 430i m sport petrol
I get error messages all the time re battery discharged while stationary. Battery almost discharged etc
The car runs fine starts fine etc
I do a mix of long/short runs eg 3 miles to Cardiff office maybe 90 miles or 200 mile trips at least once a week
BMW say there's nothing wrong but the error messages just get on my nerves
Anyone got any ideas

I had something similar on a Volvo, many hours investigating both online and checking things in the car I tracked it down to a poor earth on the battery.

Maybe a good place to start? It is incredibly annoying when the car starts/drives as it should.

Good luck.

You don't have a dashcam or anything else hardwired into the car I assume?

Nothing at all hard wired in
I occasionally use the USB thingy to charge my phone but that's it
Plus Spotify has stopped working recently so that's another reason to be fed up with it

I don’t think you’re the only one with the Spotify issues.

+1

It's a fault, don't let any of them convince you to live with it.

With Spotify it struggles to keep up with the regular app and iOS updates - you need to periodically go into connected drive, click the option button and click “update connected drive services” or similar. This will go to BMW’s servers and ensure you have the latest files to work with the apps.

I generally have not had a big issue in recent months, seems to now be pretty reliable at picking up Spotify.

Remember you need to unlock the phone and load the app from the main icon (not switch across to the app from the open apps screen) and I have found 95% of the time it connects fine

If the car is still under warranty then leave it with them until it’s fixed (obviously get a courtesy car)...

Update
More error messages over Xmas
In BMW Cardiff who say it's a battery drain via the telematics module
Headlining out and loads of trim removed so the car is unusable
The part is on back order from BMW
They say they'll have it next week
Let's hope that's a fix

I get this but have a dash cam on constant record ... guess that does it to mine but the warning comes up even though it is seemingly fine to start. I do a lot of short journeys so guess it is not getting a chance to recharge.

Dashcam will do it, I wired in an additional “live when ignition on only” cig 12v socket into both mine & my Mrs cars to prevent similar issues

I have just spent most of the afternoon fiddling about with my phone and car.
Bingo all of a sudden Spotify works
Unfortunately I didn't keep any record of what I did or I what order
But I did something which sorted it out
