The Youngtimer Collection - Once in a decade sale?

That opening title is surely total clickbait, after all, there have been some other significant collections that have made public, and private sales, within the past decade. But…
Just peruse the 140 strong collection, being spread over carefully placed auctions, by RM Sothebys, in Germany, France, and the US: https://rmsothebys.com/en/home/auctions/
It’s an absolutely stunningly put together collection with a veritable who’s who of the “Youngtimer” great and the good. Oh there are some exceptions in there, be nice to see some Hartge BMW or Oettinger curios, for example. But generally, it’s a wonderfully selected collection, sourced from all over the world, and most of it in recent years.
It spans Mercedes, Porsche, BMW, Rolls Royce, Bentley, and it really titlates my tastebuds for sure.
I have no doubt that there will be some very special prices realized, the collection adding some weight to the sales, and the sales locations very well chosen. But as somone correctly pointed out, there are a few repeat sales, but hey if that means I have more chance of getting myself an SEC widebody, or Alpina B12, bring it on. These are rare, rare cars.
Spend long enough looking at it, and of course you can pick holes in it. I see they have a Bentley Continental T, but surely you need a Le Mans, a Sedanca Coupe, and an R Mulliner to complete the set. Either way, I am bloody excited, and I don’t seem to be the only one!!!!

Sadly they'll all be out of my budget, so I'll have to be happy with my old Hartge BMs and AMG Mercs that all need just a little bit of work

I attended that one as well, to look at a few cars for a couple of friends, but sadly the prices went a little bit mental.
The place had a fantastic buzz while the auction was running, I was pleased I managed to see it all.

That auction was truly spectacular, in fact I am very keen to get hold of the original catalogue, must reach out to RMS at some point. It is a shame that the Youngtimer Collection hasn't been catalogued as one, but I totally see the sense in spreading the collection over several left hand drive venues, and by choosing event-linked auctions, the buzz will most certainly be there.The last RM Sotheby's sale that was rather spectacular was the Duemila Ruote 2016 sale in Milan.

Am very envious, I would have loved to see the Duemila Ruote, and similarly would love to see the Youngtimer cars cross the block.
I thought it odd that there is a US auction for cars that are obviously kept in Europe. I haven't analysed the catalogue properly (that's a job for next week!) but are the US cars being sold, originally federalised cars?

Indeed. And who decided to spread the collection around sales in France, Germany and US. There may be a clue around the French auction declaring that duty must be paid on all items that remain in the EU post sale. So maybe the collection is held outside the EU....would love to know who it is that amassed this collection.
