I've been after one of these for a while and happened upon one on everyone's favourite auction site. Now there is every chance that it's a legitimate example but a few things set my alarm bells off.

New seller with a feedback of 3, all relatively low priced items.

99p start on a £10K+ watch

Very poor photos

Too brief a description.

I've decided against bidding for the reasons above. It's currently up at £6,900, so I hope it is a genuine item for the sake of the winner but it's more than I'm prepared to risk.

Only a few minutes left on it, I'm purposely not linking to it as I don't want anyone thinking I'm advertising, or to accuse me of scamming, but I'm sure someone could find it if they looked hard enough. wink

Well, it's just finished and ended up going for £8,400 which, if genuine, is a bargain price.

The cheapest on C24 is around £10,500 so hopefully someone got a bargain.

Did I do the right thing by not bidding? I suppose I'll never know but it just felt a bit iffy so I'm glad I missed it. I think...

If in doubt, walk away.

Would you rather pay an extra £2k and know it’s genuine or lose £8k ?
