Am about to buy a domain for my freelance design business. It's a .co.uk and and very cheap. At check out I am offered domain privacy protection cover for about a tenner for two years. The info panel spells doom about hackers and spam if I don't need.

On the whois registry I would like to hide my home address, phone number and registration email, will the new GDPR legislation do this for me or do I need to buy the additional cover?

I don't really mind the cost I just don't want to be ripped off by believing scare stories and being uphold an insurance I don't need.

Money for nothing. Nominet doesn’t publish Whois data since GDPR.
