Does anyone out there in Jago land know anything of the history of my Jeep. Reg No. Q51GBG. I purchased it in Brighton.

Also any ideas where I can get lift off door hinges for my hardtop?

Hi Jon....
as far as I can remember, I think the JOC had a list of vehicle registrations of Jago kits, but only relating to the member's own Jeeps/Sams etc., perhaps the committee can help. Just a thought tho'...you can get a list of previous owners of your current pride and joy from the DVLA,(I think they charge £5) and perhaps you could get some history from that.
Cheers...Gerry

You can obtain a current details printout from DVLA which tells you the basics that you get on a log book on the following link and whether vehicle is declared SORN or not by using the following link:

www.vehiclelicence.gov.uk/EvlPortalApp/

Then click on "Vehicle Enquiry" on the left hand side.

For those who say Jago owners need to get out more this is prime evidence to the contrary- a fascinating evening can be had tracking down all of your long lost vehicles to see if they are still in the system/ registered or on the roasds!!

Well I followed the link and shed a tear as some of my favourite vehicles have long since gone off the system to be recycled into washing machines....

What is scary however is doing a check on 5 cheap Jagos offered on Ebay in the last 3/4 months which interested me.

2 are not the colour they claim to be , ok some people dont bother changing the V5.

2 "have not been off-road long" one has not been taxed since 2001...the other since 2003!

2 reg. nos. dont even come up no matter what make you type in Jago , Jago Geep , Jago Jeep , Jago Ford , Ford etc etc.......so they may turn out to be problems when it comes to taxing.....

Moral of story , unless its for spares or dirt cheap check out that V5 or better still the DVLA link above

Far be it for me to tell Tonka what to put in Transmissions, but this latest string with the DVLA web address could be priceless methinks. Inclusion of this in future copies, would provide important info to those JOC's who are not on line and are thinking of buying a Jago Kit etc.,

Just used the link.

It all checks out except the engine size. Still that will tally as soon as I source an engine - I think probably the relatively easy option of a 1600 Pinto.

Hi guys glad that I'm not the only one sitting in front of a screen with a list of old cars!!
To give credit where it is due I hit upon the link only recently on a Dutton site but thought it was worth spreading around

Just a quick point; if you find a vehicle that does not give the details it can simply mean that the vehicle has not been taxed since about 1997 and therefore pre dates the SORN rigmarole, it could still be a quite legitimate vehicle, though the rubber suspension bushes will probably all be shot!!

Hi Boys

Can anyone explain ?
I put the vehicle details into the above link and I receive a negative answer - "not found in DVLA."
I then go thro' the Ebay site for selling a car and enter the details - and up comes the correct info.
