well, well, well what a load of bollox. Eating jam donuts in a supra, nissan sumo and to top it all the worlds least enthusiastic man doing a report on the worlds best car.
That programme was proper shite, I really am gobsmacked absolutely unbelievable.

...and what was PM on about "First to eat the most" eh?

and was the Ferrari bit set up to deliberately obscure just how unsightly the car is? Probably. And wearing your helmet for an Eartha Kitt?

You summed up my feelings exactly, without doubt the worst piece of TV motoring journalism I have ever watched, an absolute disgrace to any proper enthusiast, I am just lost for any more words. My respect for Jason Plato has disappeared; I can’t believe he wants to be associated with this program.

That Sumo thing is the most pointless piece of TV I've seen.
I can't believe they did it again this week.

Also did anyone else find it hard to read the subtitles and listen to what they were saying all at the same time.

Unmitigated crap - at least it's not our license fee paying for it.

Tonight was the first time I'd had a chance to see the new look Driven, and I'm affaid that I have to concur with all of the above. The program has decended into the realms of the "I drive a shit heap, criminality is cool" scene that is so prevelent today. There was nothing informative, well unless any car enthusiast was un aware of what an LSD is, or what it does. The Ferrari feature was to my mind was a wasted opertunity as the camera angles and shot duration were so obsure as to make me reach for the sick bag. Again, apart from the horse power and the fact that the windows are not electric, no information was either gleaned or imparted. Mercedes benz have never in my opinion made a good looking car, but to smash one up for no aparent reason is just criminal. Bad show channel 4, the old set up was far superior to this tripe!

Gotta agree guys, it was crap.
As for an ex-British Touring Car Champion stooping to such levels in the name of entertainment, words fail me! Trashing that Merc was a bit sad really, it was more like vandalism.
At least I can look forward to seeing the local yoof trying to copy the program by doughnuting their Nova's and Saxo's at the end of my road.
I suppose this Max Power format is what sells at the moment.
I would have thought that a good market would be to show stuff like club level motorsport, (club racing, rallying, autotests, etc...). Kit car building on an episode by episode basis, (I think Men and Motors did something like this with a Cobra kit which was interesting). Car improvements and upgrades, (brakes, engines, suspensions etc......)
What do you lot think??

Anyone got an email for 'Drivel'? Time they got bombarded with some emails to point out what utter bollocks that was. Bring back Top Gear with JC - that set the standard for motoring journalism.

What a waste of 30 minutes on a Friday night. Tw@ts.

I'm getting a bit fed up with some of the contributers to this site trying to dictate what we can and cannot say. Okay, the libelous stuff is wrong, as is the gay bashing, but we are talking about a TV program FFS!
No-one is holding a gun to your head, so if you don't like it, don't read it. This is a discussion forum and inevitably the same threads will be repeated, especially if it is a current issue at the forefront of peoples minds.
I usually agree with your contributions Carzee, and respect is due, but we are talking about a TV program which many people on this site happen to watch and their opinions are just as respected as yours, and just as valid.

Nothing wrong with gays so long as they are not in politics. I reckon we need a new spectacle. Instead of the usual crap we should have a nightly TV programme where tossers get a big wet fish in the gob. starting with the producers of drivel. Blair would be on every night of course.

....and to top it all off, they are going to try and re-create the Peugot advert next week Driven.....NO!! I will watch it next week, because I am a sucker for all things motoring, but if anyone reading this is involved in the show, please change it.

Hey, at least there was rallying on to make it a little better, shame McRae is unhappy where he is, at least Burns is doing good.

A note on the Enzo test last night. Do you think that the reviewer was wearing that nasty helmet to hide his face since he wasnt a regular reviewer. And, WHAT THE F*** were you doing in the toilet?
