Anybody had any experience with fitness rings? Often thought of getting an Apple Watch but found it clumsy for 5-a-side footy and the gym etc. I was looking at this ring from Motiv Ring:

Any experiences or alternative suggestions?

I've had one of these for a month or so: https://ouraring.com/
Very impressed by it, it's focused around sleep and looks at 3 main categories; sleep, activity and readiness.
I went for it because it tracks heart rate variability and also is waterproof, 2 things most fitness trackers don't offer (without straps).
App with it is good, easy to geek out on the info provided. Lasts around a week between charges. It's 2nd generation and quite a few reviews around to give you an idea on it. Also a few discount codes floating around so search for them.

Great to hear, this is the other one I was looking at but the price point was high and put me off. Is the battery life as strong as the manufacturer suggests?
Also judging from the website the Oura ring focuses more on sleep rather than fitness tracking?

Battery life is good, 6-7 days. Can charge it during a meal so easy to manage.
It’s got an accelerator meter so tracks walking/running well, you can manually enter other activities such as weights/ yoga so they are factored in.
While the less fitness focus seems a slight negative, it’s pretty similar to a Fitbit in what it records, except flights of steps.
The sleep and readiness data is way more comprehensive and gives you a good understanding of recovery and sleep patterns plus some health indicators ( the results from a night on the booze is interesting). Overall for a way to monitor health and effective training I think it’s great.
