Ha!

It certainly is a calamitous error which has made me look a bit dodge, I'll grant you that!

No, considerably more valuable and indeed more contemporary than that......

It is in fact my iPhone 7 - pulled out from a woodburner!

Actually, it was my phone, leather wallet case, credit card, debit card, driving licence and soho card. Bugger!

Hold up, you can't keep us hanging with just the answer, we want to know how it all ended up in the woodburner??

I'm guessing the OP has a kid, and that the phone probably looks like a bit of wood, with a brown leather case.
Kid thinks they are helping by throwing phone into the fire, which is wrapped in said leather case.

Well, I lost my phone while conducting a few pre completion checks on our latest restoration. I had assumed that I'd perhaps dropped it outside of the property and somebody made off with it....

How wrong I was! Today, 3 weeks later, I received a message from the buyer asking why I'd incinerated an iPhone (her 10 year old correctly identified it!) in the woodburner!

One of the last checks I carried out was to test the woodburner, I'd taken a small box of kindling for this purpose and somehow my phone ended up in this box, which I just plonked into the woodburner and set fire to......

Idiot.

Believe me, had this happened at home then I certainly would have blamed my four year old son!

I'd expect the lion battery to go up with quite a fizz and a pop.

Did you watch it burn?

I thought those were rust stains but once you spot the sheets of glass the shape is really obvious.

I didn't sadly, it'd have been quite interesting to watch!
