Holding Value - 996 or 997

I am on the verge of going down to Porsche HQ in Reading and buying a 911.... well it is Friday!!!

If I am intending keeping it for 6 months to a year what's the best car to go for in terms of smallest deprecation - 996 or 997 and which model? Not willing to pay turbo prices though!!

Also...how much do you think I would lose on the car of your choice?
