Inland Revenue dilemma

Since moving house 18 months ago , we have received numerous letters from the Inland revenue addressed to the person from whom we purchased the property.
I pass these on to next door , who have an address to which they forward the mail. Yesterday , however , there is a letter addressed to "The Occupier" asking me to supply them with information regarding the sale of the property ie. estate agents/solicitors used etc.
Am I a "grass" to furnish them with this information , or , as an honest taxpayer is my duty to help reduce tax evasion ?
I don't wish to appear shallow , but I feel slightly swayed by the fact that she is a rather tasty soft porn star

I would just tell them what you know, it's unlikely that the previous owner is deliberately scamming, and you wouldn't want to get in the poo for witholding information (it's fairly unlikely that you wouldn't know which Estate Agent it was sold through, etc).
Besides - is she really likely to give you any??

I think that I might just get flamed on this one but I would report on this one.
I hate taxes as much as the next person and would rather not have to pay any but if you look at it another way those that are avoiding paying tax themselves are only going to cost us more in the long run.
A lot of people do the odd cash in hand job and whilst not strictly legit there has to a sense of proportion. If has come the to revenue's notice and they are sending letters like that out then there is a good chance that we're not talking about a £500 underpayment for the year 2000/01...
FWIW after I moved into my house I got all sorts of interesting looking letters from the revenue and others and even had the bailiffs round once
Forwarded the serious looking stuff to the solicitors who acted on their behalf and the more mundane passed to an old friend of theirs to drop off.
Okay now re-read your post - tell them all you know, for the love of God, the'll be round to torture you with 'investigations' every year until you spill the beans..

same thing happened when i moved.
Although the previous owners weren't softporn like ladie(s) instead it was some fat bugger that did a runner to Spain. Tax bill in excess of £7K!!!
Anyhow IR were after him balifts, you name it they were after him. The fact that i had to rebuild the house as his handy DIY work was $hite i grassed him up when ifound out where he was residing in Spain. Don't know if the IR would go after him though.

I only know because I had a phonecall from them asking where our PAYE payment was - the guy said he was from "Revenue & Customs" and I was very suspicious of who he was, thinking it was some sort of scam company trying to steal money from us
