Water in the ECU Connection.
Discussion
Been having a few problems since the car has comeback from service, it seems water is getting into the ECU connection, everywhere else in the foot wall is dry. Thinking the water must be running down inside of the wiring loom and into the connections, where does the loom enter the engine bay ?
The loom enters the car from the engine bay up in the corner above where the ECU is, looking under the bonnet, on the passenger side behind the header tank.
There is supposed to be a plug either just inside or just outside the bulkhead, to separate the engine side of the loom from the interior side, but mine doesn't have one! If yours does its worth checking that to ensure its not letting the water in.
There was water in my loom which caused no end of hassle, mainly due to the fact that TVR use non-insulated splices in the loom, so the moisture was causing the ECU to see all sorts of dodgy readings.
Dave Connolly in Belfast fixed the probs by almost completely reworking the loom, and waterproofing around and in the grommet where the loom goes through the bulkhead.
