The reg number still exists on the MOT check site but with little to no detail.

There's a bit of information on Retro Rides about it: http://forum.retro-rides.org/thread/14914/vauxhall...

Seems to have had the original running gear removed and replaced, then went on eBay in 2011, and again in 2013.

I've got an advert for Marshall Wingfield selling two similar V8 FD Ventoras, but can't find the scan at the moment.

£2,950 in '72 converts to about £40k now, the closest recent comparison is the VXR8 which I think I'm right in saying was a tad under £50k in it's final guise.

The V8 Ventora I had a ride in many years ago lived in Woodcote north of Reading - the year would have been 1983 or 84. I thought it was burgundy but also an auto not a manual. The owner claimed it was built by Vauxhall ....

All I do know is it was very understated and well finished ...

Found it.

The first one sounds very similar to the Black Prince car, though it doesn't mention the name.

Excellent Droopsnoot! That's the same car, silver and registered in late 69!

Gerry Marshal had that showroom for a while, I think ?? It's still a car show room ?

Dvla says last taxed in 85.

Gerry Marshall drove for DSealr Team Vauxhall in the 1970s, the cars included Big Bertha, V8 Ventura.

Fantastic car! thumbup

I didn't know about the V8 Ventora before, but I remember the MK1 Capri Perana V8 and the MK2 Cortina Savage (albeit that only had a V6).

Just love cars like that!

Yes, though Big Bertha was the later model, an FE Ventora, where Black Prince was an FD model.
