Staying occupied with a broken back

Asking on behalf of a friend who's currently laid up for another another month with a broken back.
Apart from the obvious books and box sets, any advice on passing the days?
They are super active so I know that being laid up is killing them. I was thinking maybe hand grippers or something to play with, just for an idea of doing something - or is even that a bad idea?

Setup a company or the likes... thats how I setup one of my companies, laid on my back with a badly broken leg, kept me occupied for a few weeks researching and stuff.Apart from the obvious books and box sets, any advice on passing the days?

When I was out of action for months with a broken neck, apart from the obvious reading etc. I started composing music and learnt the technical side of photography and every setting on my camera.
It’s a good time to really dive deeply into hobbies and interests that you normally just skim.

OP tell her to write a book and publish it on amazon. That’ll keep her occupied and will potentially earn money if it’s any good.

This, find the right game that you 'click' with and it can give you hundreds of hours of "Oh god what have I done with my life". Even a lot of online games about with large adult communities can be great for staying social when your laid up. The likes of the more hardcore MMOs like Eve Online (Basically free market capitalism online, I imagine it to be a favourite of the folks here), Final Fantasy XIV, or milsim type shooters like Arma tend to have a more mature audience. Audible?

He (same name as me) was charged with feloniously and maliciously murdering *** **** (also same name!) his father.
He was incarcerated and awaited his trial. Thankfully, to cut a long story short, he wasn't hanged and got off. He had a good many friends in high places and was very close to people with influence(s)
. It even made headlines in some newspapers of the time (I have the 'special supplement' copies - they were One Penny ea. or 6 copies for 4d. - almost a bogof deal
- but obviously I'm not gonna show them here!).He later became quite famous as an engineer locally.
So nice ending and probably a good reason why I'm here!!
I should add, even though I have the same name as him, so far I've been a very, very good boy.
