I managed to reverse my freelander into a fence post yesterday (I was off-road, go me!).

As you can see, I have a couple of long scratches, maybe 1-2mm deep in the plastic rear bumper. I’m assuming the scratches will need to be filled, sanded and repainted. Is this in smart repair territory? I’d be tempted to leave it as is, but the car is otherwise mint.

Yes, a good smart repairer should be able to fix that for you....it'll probably take a couple of hours to fix.

.
Agreed. ^^^^ Perhaps less time, though, as something similar cost me £80 in Sussex.

Is it through the paint or just the clear lacquer? If just through the clear, I've used a tiny brush and some single-pack (absolutely clear) varnish to treat cat scratches on our silver met car and it is now impossible to see them! I'm very short-sighted and I know where they are, but still can't see them - just a clean with panel wipe and less than 5 minutes to apply and job done. I kid ye not.
