Upgrading OEM disc pads but keeping original discs

Just wondering - can you 'mix and match' types of brake pads / discs.

Example, use the standard manufacturer fitted brake disc but fit ceramic pads (to keep the dust low).

or - use the standard brake pads with coated discs.

and can you put ceramic on the front - and keep the OEM ones on the back?

Mintex m1144 are a good pad. Better than stock but not silly aggressive.

I’m always happy with Mintex 1144’s
Recently fitted to a Fiesta ST150 with grooved discs and a real noticeable difference, better stopping and no fade

using for genreal road use. It's the dust that does my head in, plus the discs rusting away.

so would like low dust pads, and maybe coated discs.
