Name the plane
Discussion
Hi all - in doing some family history research I've come across this photograph of a plane which I don't recognise and, so far, can't find with Google either. It relates to my grandfather who served in the Royal Flying Corps in WW1 and I am told that the photo may have been taken in France. Hoping that you can help me solve this puzzle please!
Thanks everyone for upholding the reputation of the PH collective in 2019 - 5 answers within the first couple of hours! I have no idea what my grandfather had to do with this plane, so that'll be another avenue to look into. The links you have posted contain a mine of information - thank you again.

What went wrong with the Buccaneer - it's quite an attractive design (and excellent in its role). It took them 50 years to get it right.
Really? What makes you say that? Bear in mind it was in service for just over 30 years, and not one modern military aircraft has been introduced in what turns out to be a final and successful state. Gassing Station | Boats, Planes & Trains | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
