First post so excuse any errors. I have a late 2003 Mercedes S211 E55 AMG Estate with 130K miles in brilliant Silver, which I have had for over 3 years now.

It was brought via a garage in Hindhead called, Adrian Blyth and the owner was from Haslemere. He had it since 2008 and its had a Mercedes Teir 1 warranty till I acquired it. In my care it's mainly been to Terry at Wayne Gates, Mercedes Specialist and to Ian at Star Motor services.

The mileage last year was quite low as I was in hospital having chemo and a bone marrow transplant, that's the cause of two battery replacements.

Work since I have had it with Mercedes parts.

Both diff drive shaft seals replaced, drivers side ball joint front, drivers side track rod ball joint/ tie rod/ boot kit, weld pass side cat, underseal brake pipes by taking all undertrays off. 28/01/16 Went to Wayne gates again for a quick check on the underneath and all is good.

13/03/16 Changed rear seat rubber catch to solve rattle from the rear seat.

Very nice! I have a 2007 C55 estate, which over Christmas schlepping up and down the motorway was returning 28mpg - how does that compare with your experience with the blower?

Looks like a car that is very well looked after, but wow you are spending a lot to keep it on the road...!

Totally agree on the upkeep. I suppose not everything was required though, some was preventative maintenance.

I didn't even document everything, as I couldn't remember some of it.

They are just great aren't they. Ours is your twin, a bit like most of them! Silver but we managed to get the blue/black seats.
2 new asymm 3s on the back and brakes will need changing all round this year but at least its cheaper than an e63.

We added a c55 estate at the end of last year. It too is very nice but the E is the better car, although the c sounds better in stock form.

Sounds like you’ve had a tough time. Love the car - never sure I was brave enough to run one of these. RS4 was my “comfort point” limit!

Lovely car. I had an E55 which I ran last year in saloon form. It was an awesome car but I found myself enjoying the luxury cruising element more than the overall performance.

I've now decided to buy my wife an S211 E320 CDI which has been remapped to about 240hp but has the same interior for the most part as the E55 but the added bonus of 7 seat and massive boot. Economy, luxury and some money in my pocket.

Lovely cars and they seem to be ageing really well IMO. After the W211 the whole car started to look more angular than I like.

I came from a modifed blobeye STI pushing 381bhp so the E55 was the next step. Plus I had a young child so she was getting annoyed with pops and bangs from the STI.

It also has the cooled dynamic seats with massaging function so it was a more comfortable drive compared to the STI.

Obviously from my illness I haven't really driven it much last year and the wife keeps pushing me to sell it.

Regards.
