Hi all,

I'm in a position where I don't know what I want from my next car.

I've only driven a handful of cars so my experience is limited even though I consider myself a petrol head.

I've come to the decision I want to try out all types of car for about 4 months at a time.
This will be for about 2 years so in total, about 6 cars. (All £10,000 or under)

Currently, these are the kind of cars I'm considering:

Renault Clio RS 182
Volkswagen Golf GTI MK5
Audi S3 8L
Mazda MX-5 MK3
Subaru Impreza WRX
Volkswagen Golf R32
Nissan 350Z
BMW Z4 23i or 30i
BMW 335i (E92)
Porsche Boxter 987 S
Honda Civic Type R EP3
Audi S3 8P
BMW 135i coupe

I just was wondering if there is anything else that you guys would add to the list?

As well as that, what your top 6 would be? And why? And in what order?! hehe

Thanks a lot!

Replace the GTI with the Megane RS250 or a last of the line 5 pot Focus ST.

Welcome to the forum Jack. thumbup

As has been said I don't think the MK5 Golf Gti is considered that special from what I have read.

And compared to the other cars on your list I think you might find a MK3 MX5 a bit slow, even if it reportedly drives better than nearly anything else on your list!

If are looking at Z4 23i and 30is they will be E89 models (with the folding metal roof) but I think you might find a 23i a bit disappointing.

But you could always add the earlier E86 3.0Si (Coupe) - but I'm totally biased as I've got one of them. laugh

Although you could shorten your list if you worked out whether you will ever need/want rear seats. Do you want FWD, RWD or AWD? Do you like turbocharged engines or naturally aspirated ones? Or do you just need to work your way through all the ones you like? I know that feeling - I was in my mid-30s before I ever kept a car longer than 2 years!
