Minimum depreciation... family car £30-35k
Discussion
With the seeming end of the good times of leasing now upon us I’m beginning to think ahead as to what the next best pathway might be.
Warranty is of vital importance and we would likely only keep for around 24months. Must be family friendly!
I was thinking of a approved used Porsche, 2 year warranty on cars I think up to 7years old and the depreciation over the 24 months looks on the right model to be pretty good.
Has anyone else looked at this yet? Any other family cars that would lose minimal amounts in depreciation over 24 months?

Define family. Some people’s idea of a family car is a 5 door hatchback, for others nothing less than a 7 seat 4x4 will do.
I’d suggest Lexus, after the first couple of years the depreciation isn’t too bad and petrol hybrids are holding their value well especially with the diesel issues. Anything approved used from a dealer has a years warranty to start with and they are pretty much the most reliable vehicles anyway. A nearly new NX is in budget or if you need something larger then the RX is in range if you go a year or two older.

Why is warranty so important? Is overall cost more or less important than convenience?
As an alternative example, I recently had a family health situation that meant I needed a car urgently. I cancelled a lease I was waiting another 3 months to arrive and bought a familiar car at 12 years old / £4k. It was way cheaper than I was budgeting for just because it was a good buy for me.
At this age, whether it spends time in the garage will be down to previous maintenanceance and luck - but even some bills and a short ownership period should see minimal costs compared to something newer and more expensive.

Im in a similar position and have a lease ending in april. The prices are just too much now (for something nice anyway). For example its working out cheaper to get a glc43 on finance than it is to lease.
I would also like something with at least some straight line power and can't stop looking at porsche cayennes, the v8 diesels.
Budget doesnt seem to strech to porsche approved and by all accounts some of these third party warranties are terrible. That said i can get away with waiting until june for something so i am hoping prices may drop a touch, not so much because of wanting a porsche approved one more a case of wanting 14/15 reg on as they had a facelift which imo does look better.
I still think it will depreciate a fair bit though, id plan on keeping 4 years and i cant see how it would be worth more than 20k. That said id be happy with that and by all accounts they are pretty reliable and not too costly to run.

Come off it GLC Porsche’s etc and wanting low depreciation.
Buy a new ish Seat Alhambra SE LUX for £15k you physically cannot lose that much - unless it’s badge snobbery or you don’t really want a family wagon.
OP can you be clearer on the definition of family wagon as it seems Pork in side her is in abundance here

It depends what you want though doesnt it? In a way you could say its badge snobbery, i haven't even seen the seat you mention but realistically will it be as nice to drive/use as a cayenne or a glc43? I doubt it.Buy a new ish Seat Alhambra SE LUX for £15k you physically cannot lose that much - unless it’s badge snobbery or you don’t really want a family wagon.

A lot of people are in a bracket similar to me in that what we want is:
Something which drives nicely, a nice place to sit, decent audio, as much fun is as realistically possible in a car which can transport a load of family related crap, doesnt cost the earth to run, won't be worth 20p when selling. mrs will be happy driving it.
I suppose i look at brands like seat (possibly wrongly) as a white good, its just meant for a to b and that's fine. I want something a bit more special.

The OP never said it had to be a 7 seater
