Hi, I have made up my mind about a car I am interested in. I dont have any budged I may spend up to 5 grand for car.

I am deciding between a post 2004 corolla t sport or a celica t sport zz20 engine. asking is about spare parts does the price stay the same considering the celica is higher end car. third place goes to mazda 6 mps post 2004 again. now, i personally know that mazda is superior but is highly dependent on original parts and who knows what you get these days. any of these wont cost me more than 2.5k and spend another 1.5k on parts rather than buy a total lemon bmw for 10k.

what's your thoughs please. Thank you!

The Mazda would probably be the top of my list, if it wasn't for the £540 VED. I don't think you'd get an especially good one for £2,500 either. That seems to be bottom money.

Corolla wins for me. Completely bombproof and I think a good one will only appreciate if looked after.

Hope that helps (I struggled to understand your actual question if I'm being honest)

Get the corolla. More choice, less chance of being ragged ( loads of posh old people bought them just because they were the top of the range Corolla)
The boot with the seats down is great for a car of that size.
30-35mpg if you stay off the lift, 20 if you're there all the time.

The Celica might handle better than the Corolla, but to me the practically would outweigh it. Some (Celica 190 shed of the week) would say the Celica does 90% of what a Honda Integra Type R does. I've not seen comments that the Corolla t sport does 90% of what a civic type r does...

No direct experience of Mazda but I recall that era did suffer from rust.

Ps

My New Year's resolution was to be less pedantic, but I'm finding it hard...

The Mazda MPS are known for being a bit fragile on your budget I'd go for the T Sport Celica as long as it's the best option.

You can get the same age Corolla but they're not as sharp as the Celica above:
