Soft top repair?

Hi, a few months back I was rummaging around in my parents loft and came across a black soft top good which, from what I can assume, mustve come from one of my late father's previous classic cars. The only car that it seemed to match with was from JBA Falcon, which was sold in 2008. When the car was sold there was already a hood on the car, so it must've been a spare hood that came with the car and was stuffed in the loft. Thinking I could sell the hood, I discovered to my dismay there was a rounded hole in the side. I just left the thing in the garden thinking it was useless. Just wondering if a hole can be repaired or would it be too expensive?.

I've looked on eBay and the JBA Owners Club to try and get an idea of how much one would cost, but can't find any hoods for sale.

Where are you? I`ve used these guys http://www.trimmania.com/ not cheap, but very good. Or advertise it,as it is, on the JBA owner`s club web site.

If you can't find any for sale, probably an owner would jump at one, even if it needs a repair.

Why pay for that yourself - sell it and let the buyer get it done, you'll probably do better in the deal!

I think the best answer, as you suggest, would be to just advertise it through the owners club. I'm fairly sure it is from a Falcon, but I could be wrong. Can't think of any other convertible car it could be from or match with. I have an E-Type kit car in the garage, but the hood on that is cream and doesn't match the dimensions of the hood I've found. I do wonder why the previous owner of the Falcon threw in a spare hood with the car when the hood already on the car was in good shape.

The hole isn't too big, but the hood would require abit of cleaning.

I would advertise the hood on the JBA Owners Club site, however you need to be a member of the club to post on there.

Hi there.
I have a JBA Falcon that’s mid build and might be interested in this.
Can you recap what the JBA was that this may have come from. Reason to ask is that I have a JBA Plus2, which has 2 very small seats in the back, Sonia slightly longer than the standard car.

Hi,

Yes the JBA Falcon my dad owned was the 2+2 version with the small seats in the back.

As I said, this hood does seem to match the one from the Falcon he owned from looking at the photos of it.

I will try and upload some photos of the hood when I get time, hopefully will be soon.
