Looks like I'm 5 years behind the times and hadn't realised until now that earphones are now pretty much exclusively Bluetooth. I'm happy enough with my tony iPod to use when running but in need of some decent earphones to go with it. I'm OK to spend around £50 for some sports earphones, ideally the ones which hook over your ears so won't fall out.

Unfortunately I can't find any for sale anywhere!

Any links to something suitable greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

GravelBen

An alternative idea - I don't like in-ear phones much so I got a cheap pair of Sennheiser PMX-95 lightweight neckband style on-ear headphones for active use. Surprisingly good sound for the money and light enough for running etc, only downside compared to earphones is your ears can get a bit warm at times when exercising.

Most Bluetooth ones come with a wired option cable. This can be used when the battery in them runs flat.

There is a world out there with music, one lady learnt that recently when I slowly approached her from behind on a narrow ped/cyclist path.

Sounding my bell and shouting as she seemed oblivious to my approach.

As I passed her she nearly st a brick, ear phones stuck in her ears, each to their own I suppose. Take care out there on your run.

Sennheiser still make wired sports earphones - various different models in the '686' range from £30 to £100. Reviews on Amazon are a bit mixed though, people either love them or hate them.

I didn't realise the Bluetooth ones come with wires. Thanks.

I was put off by the mixed reviews of the Sennheisers which is a shame as I've a normal non-hook type which are great but fall out when exercising.

I don't fancy the Craig David look so will give those a miss.

And I don't use them when running outdoors, they're just for use in the gym to drown out the sounds of knobheads letting weights drop on the floor/stack.
