I'm running an IR remote pickup on USB1 but to get where I need it the cable is 15 mtrs long. On my previous motherboard this worked OK but I've changed the motherboard to a GigaRAID during a general upgrade and now there doesn't appear to be enough power to cope with this length of USB cable.

Does anyone know if there's a way to boost the signal? A powered in-line device or some such.

You can get USB repeaters...don't know if they work though! Try www.google.co.uk/search?hl=en&q=usb+active+extension&meta=
